In 2002 obtained his PhD in computer science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Babeș -Bolyai University with the thesis “Methods for parallel and distributed computing in solving operational equations” under the scientific supervision of prof. PhD Grigor Moldovan.[2]

Between 1977 and 1991, he taught mathematics in the pre-university education, obtaining the permanent teacher certification on all levels (1980), second grade teacher certification (1985) and first grade teacher certification (1990). At Agora University he founded, with acad. Florin Gheorghe Filip and prof. PhD Misu-Jan Manolescu, the International conference on Computers, Communications & Control (ICCCC) and the International Journal of Computers, Communications & Control (IJCCC) which, in less than two years, has been covered in ISI. Since 2006 he is the associate editor-in-chief of the IJCCC journal.[3]
