Ivo Brešan (27 May 1936[1] – 3 January 2017) was a Croatian playwright, novelist, and screenwriter, known for political satire. His work included screenplays written with his son Vinko.[2]
Personal life
He was born in Vodice, on 27 May 1936, but attended High School in Šibenik. He married late Croatian writer Jelena Brešan (née Godlar). She was a Jewish descent, from Slavonia. In 1964, they got a son Vinko, who is film director. His wife Jelena died on 20 September 2016. Ivo Brešan died after long and severe illness on January 3, 2017 in Zagreb, Croatia.
