Tazing Dong (also known as Bijay) is a peak of Bangladesh. Officially, it is the biggest mountain of Bangladesh.[1] it located on "Saichol Mountain ranges", Ruma Upazila, Bandarban District, southeastern of Bangladesh. According to the official calculation, height of Tazing Dong is 1,280 meter (4198.4 feet).[2] formerly, it was thought that Keokradong is the highest mountain of Bangladesh. But in modern research this information has been proved wrong.[3] An unofficial research proved to Saka Haphong is the highest peak inner Bangladesh. But it's not recognized by authorities.[4]
Location
Tazing Dong is located on "Saichol Mountain ranges", Remakri Union, Ruma Upazila, Bandarban District, Bangladesh. It is 25 k.m. away from Upazila Sadar of Ruma Upazila. There is a tribal village near this peak.
Etymology
In local dialect "Tazing" means big or highest and "Dong" means mountain or peak. The mountain is officially named "Bijay Mountain".
