Temple of Mars Ultor

The Temple of Mars Ultor was a sanctuary in Ancient Rome, dedicated in 2 BC to the god Mars.[1] It was founded by Emperor Augustus in the Forum of Augustus.[2] If still in use by the 4th-century, the temple would have been closed during the persecution of pagans in the late Roman Empire, when the Christian Emperors issued edicts prohibiting non-Christian worship.
