Vaya Chin, also historically known as South Well during the 1930s, is a populated place situated in Pima County, Arizona.[2] The name is derived from the O'odham term vaya chin, meaning "well's mouth". The current name became official on April 10, 1941 as a result of a decision by the Board on Geographic Names. It has an estimated elevation of 2,133 feet (650 m) above sea level.[1]
