"Yo soy aquél" (Spanish pronunciation: [ʝo soi aˈkel], "I am the one") is a song recorded by Spanish singer Raphael. The song was written by Manuel Alejandro. It is best known as the Spanish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1966, held in Luxembourg.[1][2]

Background

Raphael also recorded a French language version of the song under the title "Dis-moi lequel".[3]

Eurovision

The song was performed eleventh on the night, following Sweden's Lill Lindfors and Svante Thuresson with "Nygammal vals" and preceding Switzerland's Madeleine Pascal with "Ne vois-tu pas?". At the close of voting, it had received 9 points, placing 7th in a field of 18.[4]

It was succeeded as Spanish entry at the 1967 Contest by Raphael again, with "Hablemos del amor".[5]
