Category:Place of death unknown

This category is intended for placement in biographical entries of deceased individuals, primarily from antiquity (although, in some cases, reaching into the 19th century) whose place of death is lost to history and never likely to be known. Except for specific rare circumstances (such as death in a remote region where no records were/are kept) which should be elucidated within the pertinent biographical article, this category is not meant to include historically recent individuals who are no longer alive, but whose place of death is presumed to have been recorded and could be researched. All such individuals should be included in Category:Place of death missing. While recent individuals such as Joseph Force Crater, Amelia Earhart, Jimmy Hoffa or Helen Brach may be controversial candidates for this category, they are generally presumed to have died in the general vicinity of their disappearance.
