Category:Swedish municipal seats

The municipalities of Sweden normally consist of both rural and urban areas. One of the localities (tätort) acts as the "capital" of the municipality. Most of the administration is placed in the seat (in Swedish called centralort). The seat or any other locality within a municipalitiy is never a political or administrative entity of its own, but an integral part of the municipality. In most cases the seat has the same name as the municipality, but there are exceptions.
