Category:Archaeology of Western Africa by Country
![]() | This is a container category. Due to its scope, it should contain only subcategories. |
Archaeology in the region of West Africa organized by country. West Africa is defined as is by the UN (Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal, Gambia, Cape Verde, and any other islands off the coast). As of now, certain countries lack categories to add to this one. This category is meant only to contain further categories, although if articles exist which are dedicated to listing or describing the archaeological landscape of any particular West African country, they can also be allocated to this. Please refrain from adding articles about specific archaeological sites (these should go into their corresponding Country categories for the "Archaeological sites in" categories or into the Archaeological sites of Western Africa category), cultures (these should be in their specific country categories and/or in the Archaeology of Western Africa category), or things not in the region of focus.
