Bishops associated with the Catholic Patriotic Association. Most the bishops accept the instructions of the association are in communion with the Roman Catholic Church. Only a "very small number ... have not asked for, or have not yet obtained, the necessary legitimation" (Letter of 27 May 2007 by Pope Benedict XVI). Even these are not bishops of the association and, while personally being out of communion with the Roman Catholic Church, are not organized as a church distinct from the bishops who are in communion.
