Expressways in Serbia are called or brzi put (Serbian Cyrillic: брзи пут) with a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour (62 mph) and at least two lanes in each direction (no hard shoulder). They are a cheaper and a slower alternative to autoput (Serbian Cyrillic: аутопут) (motorways), usually short and used on stretches where traffic doesn't yet warrant a full-scale highway.
