Files in this category have no information on their source. Many of them may be copyright problems. Files that have been in this category for more than seven days (currently anything before 21 October 2023) may be speedy deleted in accordance with speedy criterion F4.

To tag a file that has no source, use

{{no source|month=October|day=28|year=2023}} or simply {{subst:nsd}}

which will put the file in Category:Wikipedia files with unknown source as of 28 October 2023. (If the category doesn't exist yet, please create it.)

When tagging a problem file, consider notifying the uploader. You can add

{{subst:File source|File:FileName.jpg}} --~~~~

to the uploader's talk page.

Users sometimes specify the source or licensing information in the edit summary, or the source may be obvious but it is not in standardized template form. If so, simply edit the description to have the appropriate templates.
